Proto-Slavic *drēmi̯e- has been interpreted either as *dr-ē-m- < ? *dr-eh1-m- (ESSJa) or as a result of contamination of *dr̥m-i̯e- and *dreh1- (LIV). The contamination scenario suggests that the two extended forms co-existed at a certain stage of the proto-language.
