• Hitt. karp- 'lift', 'take up, 'remove', 'pluck' (EDHIL: 452ff.). According to LIV: 201, the Hittite verb belongs to the root *ghrebh2- 'grab', 'seize'; however, both Puhvel (HED 4: 91ff.) and Kloekhorst (EDHIL: 452ff.) connect Hitt. karp- to PIE *(s)kerp- 'pick', 'pluck'.
